About Pangborn

History

The Pangborn® Corporation was founded in 1904 when Thomas W. Pangborn developed the process known as sandblasting which combines compressed air and sand to clean metal by particle impact.

Today's Business

Pangborn currently designs and markets its products: blast cleaning and peening equipment, integrated surface preparation systems and associated replacement parts, and service programs throughout the world to industries that prepare the surfaces of metal and other products. The primary markets for Pangborn's products are manufacturing companies including foundries, primary metals manufacturers, automotive related manufacturers, aerospace, machinery manufacturers and general metalworking.

Today's Products

New Equipment – New equipment sales are composed of multiple configurations of machines matched to customer's needs. Pangborn® can supply machines that do batch work such as barrels, tables, and hook type machines. Also, pass through machines utilize varying conveying devices like wire mesh belts, rollers, monorails, work cars, etc. to maximize production efficiencies. The process begins with a detailed review with an industry expert who will assist you in selecting the right machine configuration, dust collector, and work handling systems. Blast equipment utilizes compressed air or a motorized wheel (Rotoblast® wheel) to propel steel shot or grit for deburring, descaling, peening or removing sand to prepare metal products for further processing. The Company's primary focus is in the application of motorized wheel blast equipment where, because of the greater velocity achieved in hurling abrasives, wheel blast equipment yields higher levels of productivity. The Company can act as an integrator and plan your manufacturing processes before and after the blast machine. Pangborn® also supplies a line of dust collectors that complement the operation of blast machines.

Replacement Parts

Pangborn parts are designed to resist wear but are self-consuming through exposure to the same harsh abrasives that are directed on the work piece surface being cleaned. Replacement parts are supplied to exacting OEM specifications and help customers achieve performance on older machines similar to brand new equipment.

Rebuilds and Retrofits

A quality Pangborn® rebuild on Pangborn® machines offers a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new machinery, allowing you to maximize the life of your current installation while maintaining optimum productivity. Pangborn® can also retrofit other manufacturer's machines to allow customers to achieve the same productivity and cost savings available with a Pangborn® machine.
